It is amazing. No really it is.
Jenni reminded me of this wonderful bit by Louis CK on Conan O’Brien’s show called “Everything Is Amazing, Nobody Is Happy”, and I found it painfully hilarious the first time I watched and being reminded of it today it just seemed to have even more relevance. Yes it sucks that work has been hard, yes it sucks that I don’t have time to do everything I want to do, yes so many things suck for so many reasons. But underneath it all, we just need to be reminded that things are amazing. Turning on a light switch would have blown the minds of our ancestors who were alive in the 1880’s, let alone the 880’s. Having a refrigerator that keeps food, a lot of food, weeks and weeks worth of food from going bad is amazing. Being able to develop friendships with people online who you rarely see and in some cases have never met is amazing.
Life is amazing. Sometimes you just have to look harder for it. And we should all be grateful that we’re not travelling by donkey with pots clanging off of it. Donkeys are mean and they smell bad.
